Spring is all about color, the more the better. Incorporating bright colors can be tricky at first, but colored stockings are the perfect trend for achieving a colorful look that’s fashionable.
A trend that clung to every women’s legs in the 1920’s is back on the runway, but this time in an array of colors. Stockings were loved in the 20’s because dresses became shorter and women could finally show off their legs, as a result patterned stockings became huge. This Spring we saw red stocking at Celine, pink stockings at Valentino, and light blue stockings at Paco Rabbone. Also, L’officiel December/ January cover is of Jeanne Damas wearing bright red stockings. Jeanne looked classic, yet incredibly fresh. Once I saw this image I knew I had to get my hands on this trend.
Adding a pair of colored stockings is a perfect way to add life into your outfit. If you’re feeling a little daring wear a bright pair of stockings with clothes in a similar hue to create the perfect spring outfit. You can wear many different styles of shoes with stockings; my favorite has to be an open toe heel. To some this is a faux pas, but if done right it can look fun and new. Altuzarra got this look just right with pair of black tights covered in cherries with a pair red-patented open toe heels. Plus it’s a great way to wear your favorite summer shoes and not freeze in the unpredictable spring weather.
